| The California minumum wage for 2024 is going up to $16 an hour. Those cities in the Archdiocese with higher rates will likely adjust their current rates effective July 1, 2024. The California paid sick leave was increased from 3 days or 24 hours to 5 days or 40 hours. Certain cities in the Archdiocese have different rates. As usual, if more than one rate applies, employees should be provided the greater rate. The updated chart is in the Handbook.
