The school makes every effort to communicate school events and student progress.  These include the school website, the Sycamore Information System, teacher newsletters, first trimester conferences, and formal/informal appointments.

Sycamore Student Information System (http://sycamoreeducation.com/)

The school utilizes Sycamore Education, an on-line, multi-purpose student information system.  The school site includes weekly news items, important flyers, and a copy of the calendar for school events.  Each teacher has a homeroom grade page on which news is placed to inform parents of classroom events.

The system also allows parents to view student grades and assignments.  It is recommended that parents review grades with their child once each week to review individual progress.  Login codes and passwords are assigned directly to parents when the family is admitted.

New federal laws require parents to opt-in for emergency e-mail and text notifications.  For your child's safety, we highly recommend that you confirm your acceptance of this feature at the first opportunity.

Paper Mail

Students periodically receive paper mail items, such as After School Care statements or Event Flyers.  Please check home folders or with your child for any information sent home.

E-Mail Correspondence

All teachers and staff have a school e-mail @sasmail.org.  Please limit such correspondence to brief questions or requests for appointments.  Any larger concerns are more appropriately handled through scheduled meetings.

Confidentiality

Maintaining confidentiality is the legal, ethical, and professional responsibility of every member of the school community, including students, parents or guardians, teachers, aides, and all other employees. Disciplinary actions, student academic reports, and medical records are protected and secured under the law.  Every member of the school community must respect the privacy of all students, families, employees, the principal and the pastor.
