Teacher Credentialing and Student or Teacher Observation
Individuals enrolled in a teacher preparation, credential, or masters program who are required to observe students or teachers must first obtain permission from the person in charge at the location. They must provide the following:
Letter from an accredited educational institution attesting to the student's enrollment in a course that requires classroom observation
Description of the nature and extent of their activity in the classroom
Research Not Related to Credentialing or Graduate Education Degree Requirements
Individuals who wish to conduct research projects in a school must submit a formal, written request to the superintendent at the Department of Catholic Schools. Prospective researchers must supply clearance from the applicable bodies that approve research projects at the university or institution with which they are affiliated ("Institutional Review Board" or "IRB").
