At the
beginning of the school year, traditionally, faculty members and students consecrate
the school community and school year by dedicating their academic efforts to God. This can be accomplished through a prayer or act of consecration,
recited together at the opening Mass or religious service of the school
year and dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and
the particular patron saint of the school or the school's sponsoring religious community. A Teacher Consecration and Commissioning Ceremony is also available for use at a faculty retreat and/or day of recollection at the start of each school year.
