Archdiocesan electronic communications systems include but are not limited to electronic mail, voice mail, facsimile machines, stand-alone or networked computers, the intranet, the Internet, and the World Wide Web. Electronic communications devices include but are not limited to phones, computers, laptops, electronic notebooks, tablets, audio and video equipment, smartphones, and other wireless equipment. All users of archdiocesan electronic communications systems and devices must comply with the Acceptable Use and Responsibility Policy for Electronic Communications (Archdiocesan AUP).

The policy also applies to any electronic communications device brought from home and used on archdiocesan premises during business or school hours for business or school purposes. In addition, the policy applies to any personal electronic communications device that is used for remote work or used in such a manner that the location or the archdiocese may be held responsible for its use.
