5.9 Performance Reviews and Changes in Position
The archdiocese expects all persons to strive for
excellence in performance and to adhere to professional work place standards and the Core and Pastoral Values.
Justice, fairness, and Christian charity call for periodic honest review of the
working relationship. Therefore, a performance review process should be used to
help the staff member and person in charge to review strengths and weaknesses
and to document performance and achievements. Performance reviews are also an
essential tool in determining eligibility for pay increases, promotions, and transfers; in determinining grounds for terminations; and in deciding whether to continue the employment relationship or to rehire a teacher with a written agreement or renew any other written documentation of the employment relationship.
