SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Instruction for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist by SPBS Catholic students takes place during the school day in the Second Grade. All planning, practices and celebrations for this Sacramental Program take place in collaboration with the parish Office of Religious Education, except First Reconciliation. First Reconciliation is celebrated during Lent, and the Sacrament of First Communion is received on the first Saturday in May. As part of the sacramental preparation, SPBS partners with our parents to provide additional faith formation kits to be used at home as families prepare for this next step in their child's faith journey.  Parents who wish to have their child baptized or has been baptized but is older than second grade and wanting them to receive their sacraments must contact the Pastor and DRE of the parish.  All students in Grades 3-8 are provided with the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation together with their class, during the season of Lent.
