PRIMARY GRADING SCALE

III      =       Meets/Proficient at grade-level standards.* (85% and above)
II       =       Approaching grade-level standards. (75% - 84%)
I        =       Achieving below grade-level standards. (74% and below)
*Note: III in the first Trimester and second Trimester indicates competency to date, but does not include all skills expected for the year; III in the third Trimester indicates grade-level achievement by the student.

GRADING SCALE IN GRADES 4-8

SPBS follows the grading scale below, provided by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools for academic subjects in Grades 4-8.
A        =       97-100%      C+     =       80-84%        
A-      =       93- 96%       C       =       75-79% 
B+     =       90- 92%       C-      =       70-74%
B       =       87- 89%       D       =       65-69%
B-      =       85-86%        F        =       64% and below

ENRICHMENT/ELECTIVE CLASSES GRADING SCALE

PA      =       Proficient Achievement
IA      =       Insufficient Achievement
Note: Foreign Language for grades 6-8 is considered an Academic subject and uses the Academic Grading Scale.

G       =       Good
