LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY

The school acknowledges that students may arrive at school late and/or leave school early due to medical appointments and/or family emergency. Parents are encouraged to keep occasions such as this to a minimum.

Medical & Dental Appointments

If a student has a medical, dental, eye, or educational appointment during school hours, the parent or guardian must inform the teacher with a written note which is dated and signed. This note should indicate the time when the student is to be released from class and when he/she is expected to return to class.

If a student arrives late to school due to an appointment, the parent/guardian must accompany their student to the Office and sign their student into school. When arriving late, parents may not drop off their student at the school gate, and the student will not be admitted into the classroom without being signed in.

If a student must leave early, the parent or guardian must go to the Office and sign the child out of school. No student may leave the premises during school hours unless signed out in the School Office by an adult listed on the emergency card. A written certification from the doctor or dentist stating the time of release should be requested at the doctor's office and given to the office upon the student's return. Certification from the doctor is the ONLY LEGAL reason a student may not be counted tardy or absent.

Given the weekly Friday 1:00p.m. dismissal, we strongly encourage you to make appointments on these afternoons and not during school hours.
