Social Media Policy for Parents – Posting Photos of School Events
St. Joseph the Worker School prioritizes the safety, dignity, and privacy of every child in our care. In order to protect the identity and digital privacy of all students:
Parents and guardians are not permitted to post photos or videos of other people's children to any social media platform, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, or personal blogs.
The only exception to this rule is the school’s official Padlet page, where parent contributions of group photos from school events may be shared with school approval.
Approved Photo Sharing Guidelines:
✅ You may post photos of your own child only to your personal social media accounts.
✅ You may contribute group photos to the school Padlet, where the school will determine whether posting is appropriate.
✅ You may privately share group photos with other parents only if those parents give you permission to do so.
🚫 Do not post photos of other children at school events, field trips, classroom celebrations, or extracurricular activities on any public or private online platform.
Why this policy matters:
Not all families consent to having their children’s images online.
Some students may have legal, personal, or safety reasons that require strict privacy.
We are committed to fostering a community of respect and digital responsibility.
Thank you for partnering with us in keeping our students safe both in person and online. Violations of this policy may result in restricted access to school events and activities.
