HONORS AND AWARDS

Junior High Honors

Honor Awards are given to recognize student achievement in grades 6 through 8.  Honors require a 3.0 average GPA. The average is computed from 7 subjects: Religion, English, Literature, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Spanish. The Honors Awards are mailed home at the end of each trimester.


“A” = 4.0

“B+”  = 3.50

“B“ = 3.0

“B-“ =2.7

C+” = 2.50

“C“ = 2.0


“D”. “F”, or many negative comments on the Report Card will also disqualify a student from Honor Roll. 

California Junior Scholarship Federation

Students in 7th and 8th grades may apply for membership in the California Junior Scholarship Federation.  The student must 1) Apply during the first 3 weeks of the trimester, 2) Must do 3 hours of Christian Service each trimester, 3) May have no grades lower than a C. 

The official Honor membership pin and Honor gold seal placed on the diploma is earned by

  1. Earning qualifying grades for two trimesters in the 7th grade and two trimesters in the eighth grade.  Each A in academically oriented subjects is worth three points and each B is worth one point. Point total must be double the academically oriented subject number. 

  2. Having no grades lower than C. 

  3. Being recognized as a worthy citizen.
