Parent Responsibility For Student Compliance With the Dress Code

The school dress code is clearly defined.  One reason for enrollment in a Catholic school is the structured learning environment of the campus.  The dress code fosters structure.  As the primary educator, parents share the responsibility of ensuring that students come to school in attire that follows the dress code.  When purchasing clothing, please be sure that articles of clothing that are worn to school adhere to the uniform and dress codes.   Your cooperation and support in the philosophy of the school is appreciated.

Uniform Code

At all times, students are expected to wear the prescribed uniform, purchased from Michael's Uniform Supply.  Dress code violations will be issued for improper uniform, which may result in lower behavior grades.  Please check that your child is in complete school uniform before they leave for school each day.  All uniform shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, sweater, and P.E. attire must have the 2016 school logo.  Girls blouses must have the current school logo if they are worn with skirts, skorts, shorts, or pants.  Old P.E. uniforms and athletic team attire are not permitted except when given explicit permission by the principal for specific athletic events/celebrations.

  2. Jewelry should be minimal and inconspicuous.  Earrings must be stud type and only worn on the earlobes.  No dangling or large earrings are permitted.  Other body jewelry or other types of tattooing are not permitted.
  3. Make Up is not permitted.  Clear, non-glossy, non-colored chapstick is permitted.  Clear nail polish is permitted.  Acrylic nails are not permitted.
  4. Special Dress is allowed on certain occasions.  This is an opportunity to utilize appropriate dress for special occasions.  Modesty and good taste should guide choices.  No faded or torn clothing is allowed.  Clothing showing the midriff or inappropriately short skirts, shorts, and bicycle pants are prohibited.  Dressy Dress is requested on special occasions at the school. Boys in Dressy Dress must wear dress pants, dress shirts, dress shoes, and a tie.  Girls must wear either an appropriate dress, or skirt and blouse, or dress pants and blouse.  In Grades 4 – 8, girls must wear nylons or tights with dress shoes.  Denim/jeans wear or athletic suits are not appropriate on these days.  Special Dress and Dressy Dress Days do not preclude policies regarding hair, jewelry, and make up.

  6. Inclement Weather may bring the need to wear additional clothing, such as rain coats.  Students may wear these items to school; however, these items may not be worn inside the classroom.  Galoshes or rain boots may be worn throughout the day when it rains.
