Students are supervised at all times, but accidents and injuries may still occur.  All faculty and staff have been certified in First Aid and CPR.  If a student has an accident, a member of the staff will assess the injury.  If it is a minor injury, the student is sent with another student to the school office.  The office staff reassesses the injury and addresses the issue, such as ensuring a wound is washed, and a bandage is applied.

If the injury is more serious, such as a head injury, the supervisory staff member assesses the injury.  The office staff is notified, and a staff member takes the student to the office if possible.  The office staff again assesses the student.  If the student does not show grave symptoms, first aid procedures are given, and the student is observed at the school office.  The parent is notified.  The parent may choose to pick up the student at that time, or may choose to have the student return to class.  Parents would be notified if the student exhibited any further symptoms warranting further attention/care.

If the injury is grave or critical, the office staff will call 9-1-1.  Parents are immediately notified.  The student remains under the immediate supervision of a member of the staff until EMS has responded.  Should transport be necessary, a member of the staff will accompany the student.

All injuries are noted in the accident log in the school office.
