Safety and Security Procedures
Emergency Message System/CrisisGo
Visitation School has an emergency communication system that allows the principal to contact all parents within a few minutes. Parents need to make certain that the information on their emergency card is always current as well as registering onto the CrisisGo app so that the system for communicating to school families in the event of an emergency is efficient.
Emergency Closure of the School
Visitation School has established a protocol in the event of an emergency which follows archdiocesan, local, state and federal guidelines. In the event of an emergency, or school closure, parents will be notified through the emergency telephone system and/or by other forms of communication (email and/or text via CrisisGo). \
Emergency Drills
Visitation School conducts emergency drills (Lockdown, Fire, Earthquake, Evacuation, Active Shooter) on a regular basis. Should an emergency occur, students are to remain at the school, under the teacher’s guidance, until picked up by a parent or guardian. If evacuation is necessary, parents will be instructed to pick up students at one of two reunification sites: either LMU campus or Fire Station #5 (click link to see maps). In the case of an emergency, school administration will communicate to parents any and all information as rapidly as possible.
