Guidance Counseling Program
The Guidance Counseling Program helps students achieve maturity in their relationship with God, self, others, and with all of creation. Guidance focuses on three main areas of student development: academic, personal/social, and career. At Visitation School, guidance counseling is both developmental and preventative and contracts with the company Outreach Concern which provides counseling services. Services of the Guidance Office include primarily individual counseling, but at times can involve group counseling, group guidance, consultation, and referrals. Parental permission is required for ongoing or continued participation. A wide variety of topics can be addressed with school counselors, including issues of self-esteem, study skills, stress management, conflict resolution, etc.
