Uniform Dress Code
School uniforms are purchased at Cambridge Uniform Company. All information regarding the company is available in the school office and on SchoolSpeak.
GIRLS (grades PS-4th) wear a blue plaid jumper (wear thin white, blue, or black shorts underneath) with a white short-sleeve blouse (formal wear). They may also wear a light blue or navy-blue polo shirt with logo when navy uniform pants or walking shorts are worn. In this case, a solid black or navy belt with a plain buckle is required in grades 2nd-8th (no designs or letters are allowed). Polo shirts must be tucked in.
GIRLS (grades 5th-8th) wear a blue plaid skirt and white short-sleeve blouse (formal wear) or light blue or navy-blue polo shirt with logo. Skirts must be appropriate length (at mid knee) and never tucked under at the waist. White, blue, or black shorts should be worn underneath. Girls may also wear the navy uniform pants or navy walking shorts. In this case, a solid black or navy belt with a plain buckle is required (no designs or letters are allowed). Polo shirts must be tucked in.
It is highly recommended for girls to wear sports bras for P.E. class and during sports participation.
BOYS (grades PS-8th) wear navy blue uniform pants with a solid black or navy belt with a plain buckle with a light blue pinfeather shirt (formal wear). If the formal shirt is oversized, it will need to be tucked in. Pants must be worn at the waist and fit appropriately (i.e., no baggy or tight pants). A solid black or navy belt must be worn in grades 2nd-8th when navy uniform pants or navy walking shorts are worn. Shirts are to be the navy blue or light blue polo shirt with logo and must be tucked in. Boys in Preschool do not need to wear the formal shirt.
The school has designated specific days (Mondays and Picture Day) as formal dress days. Please see the monthly calendar for reminders.
If students choose to wear an undershirt, it must be solid white and short-sleeved. The sleeves must not be visible from under the uniform shirt. No other colors are permitted.
Shoes/Sweaters
Students in PS-8th must wear solid white or solid black shoes with a shoelace or fastener/Velcro as part of the school uniform. Solid black and solid white tennis shoes are allowed. It is recommended that Preschool and TK students wear shoes with Velcro. Slip on or ballerina-type shoe is not allowed, as they can easily slip off. Shoes must have shoelaces or some type of fastener. High-top or boot-like shoes are not allowed. On rainy days, students are allowed to wear rainboots over the school shoes.
Regular socks (1 inch or more above the highest part of the shoe) must be worn in solid navy or white. On P.E. days, black socks are allowed. Girls may also wear solid white or navy tights. Leggings are not permitted.
All students must wear uniform sweaters, crewneck sweatshirts, or jackets with the school logo. Other jackets, sweaters, or hooded sweatshirts are not permitted.
P.E. UNIFORMS with logo are worn on P.E. days for students in TK-8th. They are purchased through Cambridge Uniforms and include t-shirt, shorts, and sweatpants. Students wear white or black socks and tennis shoes. Solid black or white tennis shoes are worn. or student safety, jewelry should not be worn to school on P.E. days.
ACCESSORIES: No student may wear nail polish, fake nails, or make-up (including lip gloss). Girls may wear one small set of earrings on the lobe (no hoops), and a religious necklace. If a girl chooses to wear hair accessories, they must be blue, white, yellow, or black and of reasonable size. Boys may wear a religious necklace. No rings or bracelets are permitted for boys or girls.
Additionally, watches are not allowed, this includes and is not limited to Fitbits and Smart Watches.
HAIR: Students' hair must be clean and well groomed. No students may have dyed hair, highlights, or a shaved head. Boys must keep their hair trimmed above their eyebrows, ears, and collar (must use #2 clippers or higher). Hair may not be spiked. Girls must keep their bangs trimmed above their eyebrows or pinned off their face. Hair designs and/or logos may not be shaved as part of the hairstyle.
Issues relating to dress or appearance of a student that are not specifically mentioned in the parent/student handbook, but are inconsistent with the school's regulations, may be deemed unacceptable at the discretion of the principal. The school may reserve the right to require that parents bring appropriate change of clothes to school if a student is inappropriately dressed.
Writing on any part of the body is not permitted. This includes when for health reasons a child must wear a cast. Refrain from writing on it or having it written on.
A written note from parents is necessary if a child is not in complete uniform. This note needs to state the reason for the uniform not being worn.
Free Dress
Free dress clothes should be modest and appropriate for school. Parents/guardians are responsible to ensure that students are dressed in a manner suitable for a Catholic school student. If a student is not in appropriate dress, he/she may not be allowed into class.
Girls: Must wear shoes appropriate for school (no heels and no sandals).
Must wear shirts of modest fit (no tank tops or spaghetti straps).
May wear skirts or shorts of modest fit and length (knee-length or longer).
May wear pants of appropriate and modest fit (no writing on pants, jeggings, or distressed/torn pants). Pants may not be low at the waist or excessively tight.
The same rules of hair, make-up, and jewelry apply on free dress days.
Boys: Must wear socks and shoes appropriate for school.
Must wear shirts of modest fit (no tank tops or over-sized shirts)
Must wear pants or shorts of modest fit and length (no writing on pants, distressed/torn pants, or excessively tight).

Shirts may not have words or pictures that are inappropriate for a Catholic school setting.
In cases of doubt, the principal makes the final decision regarding appropriateness and appearance. If the dress is inappropriate, parents will be called to bring the school uniform to the student.
