Extended absences, whether for illness, family emergencies, or other reasons, must be communicated to the school in advance whenever possible. Parents/guardians should notify the principal and homeroom teacher in writing at least two weeks prior to a planned extended absence.

During extended absences:

- Assignments and missed work remain the student’s responsibility.
- Teachers will provide guidance but are not obligated to replicate classroom instruction.
- Excessive absences may affect academic progress and could impact promotion or retention decisions.

The school reserves the right to determine whether prolonged absences are justified and may require a meeting to discuss the impact on the student’s education.

If a student is absent for fifteen days or more during a quarter, official grades/report cards may be withheld. (Archdiocesan Policy)
