Grading Policy
The administration and faculty of St. John of God School seeks to measure total student performance in class work, homework, test performance, class participation, and work on special projects. Therefore, written grades will be given so as to keep students and parents aware of performance.
The grading system is as follows:
Primary Level (Grades K - 2)
O = Outstanding
G = Good
S = Satisfactory
NI = Needs Improvement
+ = Area of Strength
√ = Area of Improvement
Intermediate Level (Grades 3-4)
A = 93-100% C+ = 77-79%
A- = 90-92% C = 74-76%
B+ = 87-89% C- = 70-73%
B = 84-86% D = 60-69%
B- = 80-83% F = 59% - Below
+ = Area of Strength √ = Area of Improvement
Departmentalized Level (Grades 5-8)
A = 93-100% C+ = 77-79%
A- = 90-92% C = 74-76%
B+ = 87-89% C- = 70-73%
B = 84-86% D = 60-69%
B- = 80-83% F = 59% - Below
