Excused and Unexcused Absences
Excused absences include illness, medical or dental appointments, funeral services for family members, quarantine directed by city or county officials, or emergencies or special circumstances as determined by the school. Please arrange for doctor and dental appointments outside of school time. PLEASE consult the monthly calendar to prevent scheduling of doctor appointments, etc. during testing times. This is VERY important. Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. is a suggested time for appointments. Excessive absences may result in the loss of academic credit.If parents/guardians wish to temporarily take their child out of school for family reasons, the principal and teacher should discuss with the parents/guardians the possible effects of such an absence. It is advisable that the school keep on file a record of the recommendation made to the parents/guardians.
