ABSENCE
Prompt and regular attendance is essential to your child’s success at Our Lady of Guadalupe School. Please call the school office at (310) 372-7486 by 9:00 AM if your child will not be in school or will need to leave early. Please leave your child’s name, grade, and the reason for the absence or early dismissal. It is not sufficient to notify the child’s teacher or aide of an absence. Parents must notify the school office directly.
Principals and teachers are responsible for checking the regular attendance of all students. Every absence must be recorded on the attendance register and record. Elementary schools record absences according to the instructions on the Student Attendance Register. Students marked absent per the following attendance codes should also not be attending any co-curricular activities after school to maintain their focus on their academics and the importance of regular attendance.
Attendance Codes:
Morning absence - arriving after 11am (3pm dismissal) or arriving after 9:30am (12:30pm dismissal)
Afternoon absence - leaving before 12pm (3pm dismissal) or leaving before 10:00am (12:30pm dismissal)
