To effectively partner with parents/guardians and meet local reporting
needs, the archdiocesan report card is the official vehicle to report
student academic progress as well as work habits and behavior to
parents/guardians.
The purpose of report cards is to effectively
communicate student progress in achieving learning goals. The marks for
content area subjects should reflect student mastery of grade-level
standards. Work habits, including
homework completion and
behavior, should be recorded separately in their respective sections.
REPORT
CARDS
Report cards
are issued three times a year in grades two-eight, two times a year in grade
one and two times a year in TK and
kindergarten. Parent-teacher conferences concerning each student’s progress are
held formally at the end of the first trimester, and throughout the year as needed.
Absence of
fifteen or more days during a trimester may result in the withholding of the
report card/grades until the work is made up
to the satisfaction of the teacher. If a student does not complete the assigned
work due to absence or other reasons, the term
“incomplete” may be entered on the report card. This will be changed to a
letter grade when work is completed in the time designated by the teacher.
PROGRESS
REPORTS
Progress
Reports are published on SchoolSpeak at the mid-point of each report card
period to inform parents of student performance in academic subjects, conduct
and effort. The dates for progress reports are noted on the calendar. Paper
copies of Progress Reports will not be sent home unless a student is a
receiving a grade of C- or lower.
An
“incomplete” grade on the Progress Report indicates that the required work has
not been completed. It is the responsibility of the student assisted by his/her
parent to get the assignments from the teacher if he or she has been absent or
missing from class. The student must make up the work within the time
designated by the teacher.
