Homework is an extension of the academic program and is meant to reinforce subject matter taught in the classroom. Homework develops organizational skills, teaches time management, and challenges students to move forward in their studies. Homework allows the teachers to enrich the curriculum, instill in students a consistent work ethic and responsibility, and assess student achievement on an ongoing basis. Therefore, homework is assigned in an age appropriate manner. Teachers communicate specific expectations for homework at Back to school Night and periodically in classroom newsletters.

In the event of absences due to illness, each student needs to make arrangements to complete any missed assignments. The parent/guardian or student can contact or set a conference with the teacher to help bring work current. It is not the responsibility of the school administrative assistant to obtain this information for parents or students.
