​​GENERAL BEHAVIOR CODE

General Student Rules for Our Lady of Grace Students:

  • Show respect for God, others, self, and property
  • Use appropriate language and voice control
  • Be responsible and prepared
  • Keep hands, feet, and objects where they belong
  • Follow directions and school policies


There are two broad policies in regard to school discipline:

A.  Any behavior that distracts a teacher from teaching or a student from learning is unacceptable.

B.  Everyone at Our Lady of Grace School must show respect for other people, property, and ideas. 


All students are expected to:

  • Be on time for school with materials ready for class
  • Be ready to learn and exhibit pride in their work
  • Respect the rights of others and their right to learn
  • Admit mistakes and learn how to ask for help
  • Play safe approved games without chasing, tackling, or fighting
  • Show acceptable, non-violent behavior in play, language, or gestures

 

All students will be made aware of what constitutes "distracting behavior" in the classroom.  This includes:

  • Excessive talking
  • Talking while the teacher is talking
  • Being out of one's seat during instruction
  • Ignoring the teacher
  • Arguing or being disrespectful to the teacher/staff
  • Being tardy
  • Leaving early


GENERAL BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES

  • Students are expected to give due respect to adults and other students on school grounds.
  • Students are to respect all people as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
  • There should be no remarks that put down or belittle others, nor should improper language be used.  
  • Fighting or "play fighting" is prohibited.
  • Students will not engage in dangerous horseplay or rough play.
  • Students are to be in complete uniform at all times.
  • Students may not leave the school grounds at any times during the school day without written parental permission and clearance from the office.
  • Students are not allowed in the classroom unless the teacher is present.
  • All students will be responsible for the protection and preservation of school property and for the goods of others. 
  • Students will not write on, tamper with, or damage the school's or another's property.
  • Students will not litter the school grounds.
  • Books are to be covered. 
  • iPads are always to be carried closed and within a protective cover.
  • Lunch and play areas are to be kept clean.
  • Bathrooms are to be used properly.
  • Gum is not allowed in the classroom or on the school grounds at any time.
  • Students may not use cell phones or pagers at any time on school grounds during school hours without the express permission and active supervision of an authorized adult.
