Student Council


Commissioner General

1.Conduct Student Government meetings on a regular basis

2 Oversee all Student Council projects

3 Oversee all Student Council officers

4 Plan agendas for meetings and submit to moderator for approval

5 Submit all ideas, calendar items, suggestions, projects, etc. to the principal for approval

6 Set the tone for the Student Council: standards, enthusiasm, pride, etc.


Assistant Commissioner General:

1. Assist the Commissioner General in any way required

2. Take in the absence of the Commissioner General


Secretary

1. Take minutes at all meetings, keep a file of these minutes and distribute to other members involved in the council

2. Read the minutes at meetings

3. Handle any correspondence needed for activities

4. Keep a record of all activities


Commissioner of Finances

1. Keep an account of income and expenses of the Student Council

2. Report to the Council on financial matters on a regular basis

3. Organize fundraisers for Student Council for Student Council


Commissioner of Publicity

1. Keep a scrapbook of activities of the Student Council for the year

2. Make announcements over the P.A. when needed

3. Work on community publicity for the school

4. Advertise school activities on and off campus


Commission of Boys and Girls Athletics

Work with Athletics Director to:

  1. Oversee game schedules both during and after-school.

  2. Announce upcoming games, results, practices, etc.

  3. Help organize rallies

  4. Oversee the distribution, collection and care for sports equipment. 

  5. Work in conjunction with Saber Spirit Committee.

  6. Show up to every home game. 


Commissioner of Safety and Ecology

  1. Coordinate safety programs with principal: e.g. fire drills, earthquake drills

  2. Keep count of Soup labels and coordinate turn in of these

  3. Assist in establishing and maintaining an ecology program at school; e.g Earth Week, recycling drives

  4. Promote clean campus activities


Commissioner of Religious Affairs

  1. Must be Catholic.

  2. Lead the Student Council in prayer at all meetings. 

  3. Assist in liturgies, prayer services, etc. with teachers and principal

  4. Announce school-wide morning prayer


Commissioner of Saber School Spirit

  1. Work with principal, athletics director, and teachers in setting up for all assemblies and programs. 

  2. Introduce speakers at assemblies

  3. Work in conjunction with Parent Spirit Committee

  4. Work with Commission of publicity to promote extra-curricular school functions.
