Academic Honesty Policy

Academic integrity is essential to the learning process and to the development of personal values and ethical scholarship. All students are expected to complete their own work honestly and independently. Cheating, plagiarism, and any form of academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited.

Violations of academic honesty include, but are not limited to:

  • Plagiarism (submitting someone else’s work or ideas as your own)

  • Receiving or knowingly providing answers or information during an assessment

  • Copying another student’s work

  • Possessing unauthorized materials during a test or quiz

  • Altering answers or grades after work has been returned

  • Allowing others to copy your work and claim it as their own

  • Forgery of any academic document or signature

  • Aiding or encouraging another student to cheat

  • Unauthorized use of Artificial Intelligence

Students found in violation of this policy will receive a zero for the relevant assignment, quiz, or test. Additional consequences may be determined at the teacher’s discretion.

Honesty is the responsibility of each student. While there may be pressure or temptation to cheat, there is never an acceptable justification for academic dishonesty.
