Student Assessment Policy

Our Lady of Lourdes School utilizes a variety of classroom-based and standardized assessments to monitor student learning, measure academic growth, and inform instructional practices. Teachers are responsible for administering assessments in each academic subject area in accordance with their curriculum and established pacing. The type, frequency, and expectations for classroom assessments may vary by grade level and subject area and may be communicated to families through teachers' Back-to-School Night materials, presentations, or other classroom communications.

In addition to classroom-based assessments, Our Lady of Lourdes School administers STAR standardized assessments three to four times throughout the academic year to monitor student achievement and growth in Reading, Early Literacy, and Mathematics, as applicable by grade level. Results are used to identify areas of strength and need and to support instructional planning and student progress monitoring. Students in grades 2–8 also participate in the ARK (Assessment of Religious Knowledge) assessment to measure students' knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and support the school's ongoing evaluation of its religion program. Together, classroom and schoolwide assessments provide multiple measures of student learning and progress.​​
