FAMILY SERVICE PROGRAM

The goal of the Family Service Program is to involve parents in the school by requiring that they donate hours of service. The program also serves to offset operational costs and to provide a positive example to students of active involvement and commitment to church and community. Service hours consist of many different forms of assistance to the school.

The Family Service Program requirement states that 30 hours of service must be completed for each school family. 4 of those hours MUST be completed at the Holy Angels Fiesta in the Fall. This leaves a remainder of 26 hours that need to be completed during the remainder of the school year.

Service hours may not be carried over from one school year to another.

Parents must submit all service hours and those hours will be verified by the Service Hour Chair, event chairperson, room parent, teacher, or administrator. For purchased goods, receipts must be attached. Coupons received after the two-week deadline will not be accepted. Uncompleted Service Hours will be billed to the family at a rate of $30 per hour. Parents are responsible for checking their hours in Gradelink. Any Service Hour discrepancies must be communicated to the service hour chair, principal, and/or accounts manager PRIOR to May 1st.

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a necessity of Holy Angels School in order to balance the cost of what is spent per student and what is collected per student. Because of this, no fundraisers for individual classes or entities are allowed. The one exception is the allowance of the graduating class to hold no more than two fundraisers to help offset the costs of their graduation. This fundraising typically begins the final trimester of the 7th grade year. Any students joining the 8th grade class after the fundraising begins will be responsible to contribute funds that equal but do not exceed the average contributions per student for each fundraiser held. All funds raised immediately become the property of Holy Angels School, and no refunds shall be granted of excess or unused funds. The principal holds the sole discretion of approving or denying any use of these funds, and any requests that are deemed excessive or outside the “norms'' of the school shall be denied.

Families are required to fundraise $700 per year, this is subject to change annually.  This may be raised through Fiesta, Jog-a-thon, and/or the Auction/Gala.  Specifics about the amounts that can be raised per event, and through which contributions, will be distributed to families on the tuition and fees schedule annually.
