In our on-going effort to communicate with all of our St. Martin of Tours School families in the most effective and efficient manner possible and to save costs on paper and man-hours, St. Martin of Tours School will communicate some news, upcoming events, program updates, and policy changes electronically. In order to be successful, we ask that you take time each week to read your email and visit our school information sites, including ParentSquare, Gradelink, and the school website, for news and information. In addition to the weekly bulletin, which is distributed electronically each Thursday, you will receive electronic communications from the school via ParentSquare with time sensitive information. We rely upon all parents to be familiar with ParentSquare communications.
St. Martin of Tours School has established email accounts for faculty and staff. Email addresses for all faculty and staff follow the same pattern: first initial then last name (no spaces, dashes or periods) @smtschool.net (i.e. Carol Mahaffey's email address is cmahaffey@smtschool.net.) You can also find faculty and family directory information on ParentSquare.
Junior High Communications Policy: Our junior high students are becoming responsible young adults preparing to enter high school. Faculty support and nurture this growth by promoting increasing personal initiative and accountability for their academic development. When concerns arise with a junior high student, the student should first speak to the teacher directly. Students should speak to teachers during breaks or during other designated periods. Most often, concerns are addressed and settled with this initial meeting. If this does not resolve the situation, only then should parents email the teacher to schedule an appointment. This policy is meant to encourage responsibility and leadership among our junior high students.
Primary and Intermediate Grades: If parents have a concern regarding school policy or curriculum, or any other question that the child cannot ask the teacher directly, please contact the child's teacher to address your inquiry or schedule a conference.
All Grades: If an additional meeting is warranted, the parent may meet with the teacher and the level coordinator (or the assistant principal) and the principal shall be informed of the issues. If the situation is still not resolved, the matter will be referred to the principal.
