Homework
Homework planned to meet the needs of the students has an essential place in the educational program at Visitation School.
Homework is assigned to:
reinforce concepts and skills that have been taught in class,
foster creativity and academic discipline through enrichment, projects or research
train the student to work independently and to accept responsibility for completing an assigned task.
The estimated time allotments (what the average child in the grade is expected to accomplish for the time period) for homework are as follows:
Grades JK - 2 not to exceed one-half hour (Mon. - Thurs.)
Grades 3 - 5 not to exceed one hour (Mon. - Thurs.)
Grades 6 - 8 not to exceed two hours daily.
