If parents/guardians wish to temporarily take their child out of school for family reasons or for vacation, the principal and teacher should discuss with the parents/guardians the possible effects of such an absence. These could be considered unexcused, and students may get partial credit, if at all, at the discretion of the teacher. Anything past 20 absences would warrant a meeting with the principal to discuss a student's progress. Parents must notify the office and teacher of any absences ahead of time and on the days they are absent, give the office a reason for the absence each day they are out. Ideally, any medical notes must be provided on the day of the first absence as listed on the doctor's note.
