Topic 6-06-2 – Graduation Celebration/Grad Night

Graduation is a Senior Class activity and consists of two parts:
  • A Baccalaureate Mass giving thanks and praise to God;
  • Commencement Exercises at which each student is recognized and his/her diploma is issued.

Graduation is a privilege, not a right, and is reserved for those Seniors who have met all academic, financial, and disciplinary criteria and obligations established by the school.  Parents/guardians and friends are most welcome to attend Graduation activities but are to be mindful of the appropriate dignity of the occasion.

Senior Activities and Graduation Eligibility

Students must complete a total of 80 approved Christian Service hours to be eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies, purchase prom tickets, and participate in designated Senior activities.

Students are expected to complete a minimum of 20 service hours each school year.  Hours must be completed through approved service opportunities and submitted according to school procedures.  Failure to meet service requirements may result in loss of eligibility for prom, senior activities and graduation participation.

Senior Prank Policy

Activities commonly referred to as "Senior pranks" must reflect the values and expectations of Bishop Alemany High School.  The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Damage, theft, vandalism, or defacement of property.
  • Unauthorized access to buildings or restricted areas.
  • Tampering with school equipment, technology, alarms or security systems.
  • Activities that create safety hazards or disrupt school operations.
  • Use of substances or materials that require cleanup or may cause damage.
  • Harassment, humiliation, intimidation, or targeting of any individual.
  • Any conduct that violates school policy or the law.

Students participating in prohibited prank activities may face disciplinary consequences, restitution, loss of Senior privileges, exclusion from graduation activities, suspension, or referral to law enforcement.
