Homework is an essential component of the learning process and serves multiple purposes: to work toward mastery or extend knowledge of standards already addressed in class, to prepare for a new skill or concept, and to develop positive work habits. Study, written work, or projects will be assigned to reinforce course content. The specific type and amount of homework are determined at the site level. Teachers assign appropriate homework and provide clear guidelines and relevant, immediate feedback to students. Homework shall not be assigned as punishment. Students must have their own clean copy of the class textbook each day or points will be deducted each day.
