ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

At Bishop Montgomery High School, we are committed to Justice, Truth, and Honor. We believe that each student is called to act with integrity as part of their moral and spiritual development.

Academic integrity includes submitting work that genuinely reflects your own thinking, effort, and learning, while acknowledging the ideas and contributions of others.

Expectations for Students

Students are expected to:

  • Submit independent, original work for all assignments unless collaboration is explicitly permitted.

  • Properly cite and credit all sources (including books, websites, AI tools, and other individuals).

  • Follow teacher instructions regarding collaboration and use of resources.

  • Take responsibility for their own learning and academic progress.

  • Ask the instructor for clarification when unsure about expectations.

Use of Technology and AI

Bishop Montgomery considers it a violation of academic honesty to use any tool, platform, or technology to complete or enhance assignments without explicit permission from the instructor. Any use of such tools must be transparent and properly cited if allowed by the instructor.

Teachers reserve the right to permit or prohibit the use of specific tools depending on the nature of the assignments and the course objectives.

Examples and Consequences of Academic Dishonesty
