All eligible students are invited to join the team at the beginning of each season. If a team has too many students wanting to play, they may hold tryouts or divide the group into two separate teams. If a coach can’t be hired for a team, the season will be canceled and refunds will be issued.

Before a student will be allowed to participate in any game or practice, a signed permission form must be returned to the Athletic Director. This will be distributed to the coaches and kept on file during the season of that sport.

All students involved in after school sports must have and maintain a “C" average with no “F" Grades.

Varsity Athletes: Grades are checked for eligibility from the previous trimester report card by the A.D. before the start of the specific sports season. Students who receive an 'NI' will be subject to review by A.D. and Teacher and may be deemed ineligible to participate. When a varsity athlete falls below the standards (academic, conduct or work habits) on a trimester report card, this immediately makes the student ineligible to compete for the upcoming sports season. During the sports season, the Principal and/or AD have the ability to put a varsity student on week to week probation for any reason.

  • Fall Sports: June report cards of previous year (trimester 3)
  • Winter Sports: November report cards (trimester 1)
  • Spring Sports: March report cards (trimester 2)

If a sports team is in season/playoffs while a trimester report card is issued, grades will be checked immediately and ineligible student-athletes will not be able to continue participating if the student-athlete falls below the standards (academic, conduct or work habits).

  • B/C Athletes: B and C level athletes not meeting the grade in conduct or work habit expectations at any time throughout the year the student may be placed on week to week probation by the AD and/or Principal and cannot practice or participate in any team activities until deemed appropriate.
  • All Cheer Athletes: As cheer is a full year sport, eligibility is determined by the previous school year. If a cheer student does not pass 2 out of 3 trimesters with a “C" average with no “F" grades, they will be immediately ineligible for the next school year. No exceptions.

Behavior

If a student misbehaves at school and the parent is sent a notice home about their misconduct, the student will not be able to participate in the sport depending on the number of misconducts that have been sent home the academic year.

  • 1st parent notice of misconduct = 1 game suspension
    • Student will still be at the game to support the team
  • 2nd parent notice of misconduct = 1 week suspension
    •  Student will still be at the game to support the team
  • 3rd parent notice of misconduct = Entire sport season suspension
    • Entire sport season is equal to 3 months of no athletic eligibility from day of incident
  • 4th parent notice of misconduct = Child will be suspended from all athletics
    • The child will not be able to participate for a year from day of incident

Cheer has their own Code of Conduct for behavior, parents will sign and acknowledge their specific set of rules
