Internet Safety Policy for OLG
(Items to discuss during General Meetings)

1.) The School’s Internet Use Policy
a. Monthly monitoring of Network Usage
b. The policy applies to students anytime they are on a school device and on
our internet inside the buildings and out in the yard.
d. Student devices include iPads, Macbooks, and Chromebooks.
e. Student devices MUST remain on Student Wifi

2.) The School’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
b. Reference OLG’s AUP that was sent home to sign and return.
c. Review expectations/consequences included in emails sent to JH and ECP
families
d. Review Out-of-class expectations for device usage. (Families need to
Prepare. Check out OpenDNS settings to allow for Parental Controls on
home routers if they don’t already exist.)

2.) Describe the School’s digital culture
a. Digital Citizenship curriculum examples that students will receive. (i.e.
lessons on Cyberbullying and Digital Citizenship through Empowering
God’s Children, NearPod, and Common Sense Media)
b. Include example from Google’s Be Internet Awesome
c. Some apps that can be dangerous to youth. (I.E. Among Us, Parler,
TikTok, etc.) Resource Article:
