Tuition Assistance (TA)

St. Joseph the Worker School is pleased to offer tuition assistance following California Education Foundation (CEF) guidelines. This assistance is typically applied for in January and February for the following school year.

Current 8th grade students may apply for tuition assistance through Catholic Education Foundation for an area Catholic High School in the fall of their current enrollment for the following year.

Applicants are expected to provide a complete application with all required supporting documentation at a CEF Onsite Event, only.

Tuition Negotiation (TN)

Tuition Negotiation is offered on a limited basis by St. Joseph the Worker School and is determined upon receipt of a completed tuition negotiation application with all required supporting documentation and an interview with the principal. Application for Tuition Assistance through CEF is a prerequisite for applying for Tuition Negotiation.

Some of the key areas in the guidelines for determining tuition negotiation from SJW include:

  • In general, negotiated tuition is given for a short period of time to help a family get through a difficult financial situation.
  • No family is guaranteed negotiated tuition each year.
  • All interested families must reapply annually.
  • The school will not give awards that are higher than 50% of the total cost of educating the student.
    • For the 2022-2023 school year, the cost of educating one student was approximately $6700.
  • Grants are distributed based on the resources available for negotiated tuition and the number of families seeking negotiated tuition.
  • Each family is considered on a case by case manner.
  • Comparisons between yourself and another family cannot be made.
  • Note: We require all families receiving assistance or negotiated tuition to give back to the school through service. Additional service hours may be added to your annual total. We all have the gifts of time, talent, and treasure to offer our school family.
