Discipline and Procedures Classroom

Teachers are responsible for the classroom management in their classrooms. Students are responsible for following all classroom rules.

1. Students are not allowed in the classroom at any time unless the teacher is in the room.
2. Classrooms are places of study. Disturbing class order in any way will not be tolerated.
3. Writing, passing or reading personal notes in class is not permitted.
4. Books must be covered at all times. If covers show wear and tear, they should be replaced by a clean cover. Scribbling on books or covers is not allowed. Damaged books must be paid for by the student.

5. Birthday parties are to be held during students’ lunch period in the lunch area. Please make sure that all students in the class are included in the celebration. Food must be store bought. No homemade food is to be given to students.

6. Birthday invitations are not allowed to be passed out in class.
7. No toys from home should be brought to school unless given permission by the teacher.

Restrooms

1. Restrooms and drinking fountains are to be used safely and to be kept clean. 

2. Loitering or playing in the bathrooms is not permitted.

Playground

1. Students should be in their assigned play areas during recess and lunch hour.
2. All equipment is to be used safely and in the prescribed manner.
3. While playing, students are to be fair and courteous with safety in mind. Name calling, fighting, and improper language are prohibited.
4. The bell ending recess is the signal to stop playing. After the bell, students are to walk immediately to line up.
5. All students, regardless of grade, are to assist in keeping the school grounds and facilities free of papers and other debris.

Lunch Area

Behavior in the eating area will be based on courtesy and cleanliness. This means leaving the lunch area clean. Students are to remain in the eating area until they have been dismissed by the lunch assistant on duty. At no time are students allowed to take food outside of the eating area. “No Fast Food lunches so as to be considerate of other students”.

Other Rules

1. Students may not leave the school grounds at any time during the school day without written permission and clearance from the school office.
2. Gum chewing is absolutely forbidden on the school premises.
3. Cameras, video games, lap tops and other valuables are not permitted at school without special permission. When special permission is given, the school does not take responsibility for the damage or loss of these items. Cell phones are allowed to be brought to school, but are to be kept in their backpack and turned off. Use of cell phones after school is permitted with the permission of their teacher.

If cell phones are in use/turned on during school hours any member of the faculty, administration or staff have the responsibility to confiscate the item and will hand to the Principal or Vice Principal until a parent/guardian arranges to pick it up. If the cell phone has been taken away on a previous occasion during the school year, the student may lose the privilege of bringing a phone to school.

The taking of pictures of students and/or the campus by students is prohibited AT ALL TIMES with a cell phone camera or any other type of photo or video camera to ensure the safety of your child. The only exceptions are at school sponsored functions for the use of personal keepsake taken by parents.​
