​Examination and Inoculations​

A student, with the permission of the parent or guardian, may be subject to routine tests in school, including auditory, visual, and dental inspection and, upon referral by the principal, to a complete physical examination and/or other professional help.

A tuberculosis patch test and/or X-rays, immunization for prevention of diphtheria and smallpox vaccination may be given only with the explicit written permission of the parents. 

Immunizations 

All directives regarding immunization, issued annually by the State of California, shall be implemented. Pursuant to the California Department of Public Health, the following immunizations are required for school entry:

Hepatitis B—three doses required for school entry given at any time

Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (DTP) 4 doses are required and at least one dose must be given on or after the 4th birthday

Polio (OPV/IPV) 3 doses are required and at least one dose must be given on or after the 4th birthday

Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) 2 doses are required and both doses must be given after the 1st birthday.

Varicella (Chickenpox) 2 doses are required

For students entering Grade 7 they must have in addition to the above, a booster of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap) which must be given on or after the 7th birthday.

Medical exemptions can only be issued through the California Immunization Registry – Medical Exemption website by physicians licensed in California.
