Each location should have a portable Emergency Plan Kit that includes the following items, as applicable:

  • Copies of the Emergency Plan

  • Copies of emergency phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses for the police department, fire department, utility companies, and hospitals

  • Current class lists and schedules for the school

  • Family directory; emergency phone numbers for students​ and phone relay list, if available

  • Staff directory and staff emergency contact information

  • Current blueprints, if available, or other similar drawings, layouts, or floor plans of buildings

  • Map of local streets and directions to alternate prearranged sites if an evacuation of the location is necessary

  • List of students and staff members who ride school buses or rely on public transportation

  • List of students who attend before- or after-school programs

  • Class lists, meeting times, and locations, if applicable, of parish religious education programs

  • Communications Department​ contact information (213-637-7215,​)

  • Keys to all buildings or a master key (all keys numbered or identified)

  • Identification of disabled students and staff and their needs

  • Flashlights with batteries

  • Megaphone with batteries

  • Radio

  • Extra batteries

  • Whistles

  • Emergency personnel jackets or vests

  • First aid kit

  • Pencils, pens, and pads of paper

  • Permanent ink markers

  • Large, heavy-duty trash bags

  • Duct tape

  • Wrenches to turn off gas or water

  • Work gloves

  • Protective gloves
