ILLNESS/ACCIDENT PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS
Parents will be notified by SPBS if a child is ill and asked to pick up the child. SPBS will notify parents if a student is seriously ill or severely injured; the parents' directions will be followed when possible. However, in the interest of the sick child, parents are asked to respond as promptly as possible, whenever a child must be sent home. In case of accidents and injuries, no emergency room/doctor can treat a child without the parent's permission. Therefore, it is essential that we have a current, signed Archdiocesan Emergency/Permission to Treat card on file in the school office. Please notify the school secretary immediately should any information on the emergency form change during the school year. If a child shows signs of illness, parents should not send them to school. All children should remain home until their temperature has been normal for 24 hours. In the case of a medical emergency during school hours, SPBS will have the student transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment at the school's discretion, and the parent will be notified as soon as possible, and asked to meet their child at the hospital. SPBS calls emergency services at the discretion of the administration. SPBS will not transport severely injured students by private automobile.
