These rules are to acquaint parents with the OLL traffic program. The safety of your children is of the utmost importance at Our Lady of Lourdes School. Please follow these rules! The life you save may be your own child’s. All illegal activities are subject to citation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
a. Drop off your grades one through five students in the Upper Parking lot on Apperson St. no earlier than 7:45 a.m.
b. Drop off your kindergarten and junior high students in the lower church parking lot behind the auditorium no earlier than 7:45a.m. TK and Kindergarten parents, walk your child to their classroom.
a. NO LEFT TURNS into or out of school parking lots.
b. NO DOUBLE PARKING AT ANY TIME.
c. NO U-TURNS during morning drop-off or afternoon dismissal times.
f. The Elementary Side Drive up gate will open at 3pm, this is a Drive through line as parents we are not allowed to get out of your car, or stop a teacher for a quick chat. If you need additional time keep the drive through line going and safely park in one of our Appersons spots to help a child who cant buckle themselves. If the teacher is available you will need to wait in that parking spot until ALL children have been dismissed before you can talk to the teacher or schedule an appointment with them.
g. Walk up (in person gate) will open 5 minutes after the drive up gate opens OR once the vehicles that are waiting in line are all safely inside our campus whichever comes first. whichever comes first, and we will bring the child to you.
3. Bicycle and Skateboard Safety:
a. No bicycle riding, scooters, motorized vehicles, skateboards or other such vehicles are permitted on the school grounds.
b. Children may ride bicycles to school with written parental permission on file in the school office. c. Bike riders must wear legal, safety helmets in accordance with the California Vehicle Code. Bikes are the responsibility of their owners. They should be equipped with a secure bike lock. We strongly recommend that all bicycles be licensed through the Police Department.
4. If a barricade is up in the JR high side ONLY a faculty member is allowed to open that. No parent can get out of their car to open it. Please be aware that TK & Kinder parents need extra time to pick up their children that gate will not open until 3 pm (or 12:30 on Fridays)
