12.6 - Tutoring
<p> <span style="font-size:13px;font-weight:bold;">Tutoring</span><br> <br>If a student requires private tutoring or parents/guardians wish to have a student tutored in school subjects, the parents/guardians are responsible for engaging the tutor and paying all tutoring costs. The school may assist the parents in identifying tutoring resources.<br><br>Teachers may not be paid for tutoring students assigned to their classes, but with prior permission from the principal, teachers may tutor other students who attend the school and be paid for such tutoring by the parents/guardians.</p><p> <br>A school may arrange with independent contractors or entities not employed as teachers or staff at the school to provide tutoring on a fee basis. For individuals hired by the school as tutors, the <a href="/Handbook%20Resources/professional_services_contractor_agreement.pdf" target="_blank">Professional Services/Contractor Agreement</a> may be used; for tutoring companies, the <a href="/Handbook%20Resources/independent_contractor_agreement.pdf" target="_blank">Independent Contractor Agreement</a> is appropriate. <a href="/_layouts/15/FIXUPREDIRECT.ASPX?WebId=7c52c6b6-eea1-4fc3-ac3a-90f0c442a28e&TermSetId=8b66c3a8-bdfa-4bea-9c29-07c09bf9129e&TermId=1fbada00-03b3-4345-9a76-12e8d21255e7" target="_blank">To use archdiocesan facilities</a>, the independent contractors or entities must have appropriate licenses, <a href="/_layouts/15/FIXUPREDIRECT.ASPX?WebId=7c52c6b6-eea1-4fc3-ac3a-90f0c442a28e&TermSetId=8b66c3a8-bdfa-4bea-9c29-07c09bf9129e&TermId=943077db-25ad-4d91-b750-aa9e06825b99" target="_blank">sign agreements to use the premises</a>, and obtain liability insurance.<br><br>All tutors and entities must comply with the procedures and policies of the extended school day program and the <a href="/_layouts/15/FIXUPREDIRECT.ASPX?WebId=7c52c6b6-eea1-4fc3-ac3a-90f0c442a28e&TermSetId=8b66c3a8-bdfa-4bea-9c29-07c09bf9129e&TermId=6db5f984-8f4b-446b-bbe6-db788617207f" target="_blank">safe environment policies and vendor policies</a> of the archdiocese.
