VIRTUS®
VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children Adult Awareness Session is a three-hour training that helps adults to understand the facts and myths about child sexual abuse. This training is required of every St. Brendan School parent. No parent or adult will be allowed to volunteer or accrue service hours (including mandatory Traffic Duty) without a valid VIRTUS certificate on file in the school office. VIRTUS certificates are valid for four years after the date of completion of the course. Re-certification classes (a 1 ½ hour training) are available prior to the expiration of the original certificate. Classes can be found online at www.virtusonline.org.

As part of our commitment to keeping our children safe, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is requiring all adult volunteers, including volunteer coaches, parents/guardians, people assisting in the classroom, and others who have regular contact with students or minors be VIRTUS-Fingerprinted in addition to having a current VIRTUS training certificate on file before beginning their assignment under the California Education Code.
