The objectives and policies of the St. Brendan School extra-curricular sports program are outlined in the Athletics Handbook which is distributed to all student athletes and their parents. In addition to the policies listed in this handbook, St. Brendan School follows all State and Archdiocesan regulations as detailed in the ADLA Administrative Handbook.

Parents and athletes must sign the Athletics Consent Form before the student will be allowed to participate in any sports team. A fee per student per sport is charged at the beginning of each sports season.

The objective of the athletic program at St. Brendan School is centered in the belief that participation in sports helps toward the development of a child into a whole person.

The program’s goals are:
  • To give a child the opportunity to discover and develop his or her physical abilities
  • To teach the fundamentals of sports
  • To encourage a competitive spirit within the framework of Christian teaching
  • To develop a proper and responsible attitude toward victory and defeat
Beginning in 5th grade, St. Brendan School students may take advantage of the school's traditionally successful athletic program, which competes in the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) League, a competitive sports program involving local Catholic parochial schools.
