OLA pastor and principal in agreement with the finance council, are committed to making Catholic education available and affordable.  Tuition assistance to a student is offered on the basis of verifiable financial need only.   The Catholic Education Foundation provides tuition assistance to students who attend archdiocesan schools and who qualify according to financial guidelines established by the Catholic Education Foundation.  Any OLA family in need of tuition assistance must complete an application and submit supporting documentation.

If a family does not qualify or meet the criteria for a scholarship from the Catholic Education Foundation, OLA uses the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Catholic Education Foundation applications to determine need. The application may be considered for an in-house award, determined by a sub-committee of the OLA finance council. In determining eligibility, OLA requires a formal application and parent/guardian financial statement, using the same requirements as the Catholic Education Foundation when determining eligibility for school assistance.  Forms are available in January each year for awards the following school year.  Any award will be reflected on FACTS® statements.

For more information, please check the website www.cefdn.org.

The Catholic Education Foundation annually publishes the policies and procedures governing the program.

Schools may not require parental/guardian service hours in exchange for tuition assistance.
