Homework may serve multiple purposes: to work toward mastery or extend knowledge of standards already addressed in class; to prepare for a new skill or concept; and/or to develop positive work habits.

Students are expected to complete homework assignments according to the directions given by the teacher.

All assignments are to be prompt, neat, and the WORK OF THE STUDENT. Homework is an integral part of the learning process; therefore repeated unfinished homework may affect report card grades and may result in detention.

Students in the primary grades (TK-2) should not spend more than 20 minutes per night on homework.

Students in the intermediate grades (3-5) should not spend more than 45 minutes per night on written homework.

Students in junior high (6-8) should not spend more than 75 minutes per night on written homework.

Homework from absences OF MORE THAN TWO DAYS can be requested by the parent; the parent should call th school office or otherwise notify the teacher. Please allow one school day for the work to be sent to the office for pickup after dismissal.
