Campaign Rules:


  1. Each candidate will be allowed ONE digital campaign “poster” in the form of a google slide. Poster must include candidate’s name, the office, and three ideas for the office. The poster may also include pictures or slogans (school appropriate). This will be shown at Morning Announcements.


  1. Each candidate will also be allowed ONE physical poster. Poster must include candidate’s name and the office. The poster may also include pictures or slogans (school appropriate). Posters will be hung in the library windows (facing outward toward the Pavilion) so all may see them at recess and lunch. Posters should be no larger than a standard size poster board (22x28 inches)


  1. You may not use social media to campaign for office. This includes parents posting campaign messages to social media, or friends posting campaign messages to their social media.  No Social Media. Any candidate in violation of this rule will be disqualified.


  1. You may not pass out any materials that could be considered a bribe. This includes all food items, including but not limited to cookies, cupcakes, candy, stickers, and toys.


  1. Candidates will be expected to give a one-minute speech on the day of elections. A written copy of the speech must be submitted for approval no later than the date prescribed at the informational meeting. SC Moderator Team and the principal will preview the speeches for approval.  The focus of your speech needs to be on why you want the office you seek, your qualifications, and your ideas for the office. 


  1. Speeches and Election Day Speeches will be held the day before the election. Voting will be in a Google Form, accessible only by grades 3rd-7th. Results will be shared with candidates in a meeting the following day.  Results will be emailed to all school families after the candidate meeting.​
