​​TARDINESS

A student is considered tardy to school if he/she arrives at school after the tardy bell.
A student is considered tardy to class if not in his/her assigned seat or location, with all the materials needed for class when the bell begins to ring, marking the start of class or the assembly. 
The office will keep track of students tardy to school.
The teacher will mark the student tardy to class.

A student who is tardy to school and/or class may receive one of the following:
A student with excessive tardies to school and/or class can expect  to lose extracurricular          
privileges such as, but not limited to school events, sports functions, ASB, Office, field trips, clubs, etc.
If the student arrives to class more than five minutes tardy, the teacher will send the student to the Attendance Office for an unexcused re-admit slip.
If a student arrives to class more than five minutes tardy, due to a counseling appointment or a teacher appointment, the teacher will send the student to the Attendance Office for an excused re-admit slip.   

Tardy Policy 
Tardiness to the first class or activity (school): Students will be given a period of grace and allowed three “no-fault” tardies per semester. Each tardy after that is detention. If a student is late to school he/she must check-in at the main office before going to class.

Loss of Credit: When a student accumulates ten (10) or more tardies in any course, their grade will be dropped a letter grade (10%) for that course. 

During the school day: Students arriving 20 minutes late or more to the first-class period will be recorded as absent for that period. Students arriving less than 20 minutes late to the first-class period will be tardy. 

Students 20 minutes late to any other class period during the day will be considered truant.
