Our personal appearance is the first message we give to others about ourselves. How we feel about ourselves and what we want others to think about us is communicated by our appearance. St. Catherine Labouré School believes a dress code is necessary not only in recognition of the economic necessities of families but also because we hope that a de-emphasis of the material incentive placed on what one wears will foster an appreciation of the beauty that each student possesses as a child of God. Therefore, it is very important that all parents support all dress code policies. All students must be in complete regular uniform (RU) or the uniform option (UO) daily (before, during and after school hours). Regular uniform (RU) must be worn at all school masses, for school pictures and on other such occasions deemed by the principal. Detention may be given to a student who is out of uniform more than twice without a specific written reason. Students in violation of uniform dress code two times in one month forfeit eligibility for student of the month and/or honor roll recognition.
