SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Parents of students preparing for sacraments must be willing to participate in a sacramental preparation program as a condition to their child’s receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Additionally, parents are expected to attend two additional, school-sponsored retreats prior to their child’s sacrament reception.

Any student who wishes to be Baptized must contact the Parish Ministry Center as this is a Sacrament administered by the parish.   The Ministry Center phone number is 310-515-6033.  Students in grades 3-8 who wish to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and/or First Eucharist should contact the school Religion Coordinator (currently Miss Hebestreit) at the beginning of the school year.  The school may assist in preparing the students for these Sacraments; but the parents must follow the requirements and guidelines set forth by the parish and/or school.

Reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is reserved for students who have undergone a two year preparation program while in the ninth and tenth grades. Preparation classes are sponsored through the Parish School of Religion. Eligible eighth grade graduates are encouraged to contact the Religious Education Office for further explanation and class dates.   The Ministry Center phone number is 310-515-6033.
